About Rafa Nasiri Award for Graphic Arts
In the aftermath of Rafa Nasiri passing, December 2013, Nasiri Art Studio, Amman-Jordan, sponsored by his widow May Muzaffar, poet and art critic, initiated in 2014 an annual Printmaking Award for young Arab artists, ages 20 to 40, wherever they may be, for art works executed during one academic year. The award aims to enhance the art of Graphic in the Arab world and strengthen its value within the field of plastic arts.
Established in honor of the late Rafa Nasiri, Iraqi artist and printmaker, the Rafa Nasiri Annual Award for Graphic Arts Competition identifies young Arab artists with exceptional talent in graphic arts and showcase their distinguished work to a wider audience. Founded in 2014, the Awards programme's initiative is to foster their creativity and talent through recognition and scholarships.
